Following multiple leaks SGN will be replacing the old metal gas pipes with new plastic pipes along the Nine Mile Ride and at the junction of Old Wokingham Road/Nine Mile Ride.
SGN’s contractors (I&G) will start the initial phase of work on 4th December. The Nine Mile Ride will be closed from it’s junction with Old Wokingham Road (at the roundabout) and a diversion put in place. Temporary traffic lights will be installed at the Pinewood crossroads and either side of the roundabout.
This phase of the work should be completed by 17th December.
I&G will return to the Nine Mile Ride on 3rd January 2024 to replace the gas pipe network in the carriageway between Old Wokingham Road and Palmer Close. The Nine Mile Ride will be closed in phases around the work area, as follows:
– Nine Mile Ride roundabout to the Nine Mile Ride/Lupin Ride footpath.
– Nine Mile Ride/Lupin Ride footpath to Palmer Close (including Palmer Close).
