It has come to light that Pinewood has been included in Wokingham Borough Council’s Draft Local Plan Update for development 2026-2036 as a site for self-funded regeneration

At this stage, it is the parish council’s and the elected ward councillors’ understanding that this is a long-term view for how funding could potentially be generated to renew buildings at Pinewood when they reach the end of their life, and not a proposal for mass housing on the whole site.
The parish council is disappointed that this has been included in the local plan proposal without any prior consultation with the Pinewood tenants (the parish council also being a site tenant).
The parish council is currently seeking clarification from WBC on what this allocation in the plan means for the site. As soon as we have more information, we will share it.
